Panther Skin Smuggling still a mystery for Police
The Panther Skin smuggling saw more action this week as two more accused in the act were arrested by Hathipol police on Wednesday night.
The Panther Skin smuggling saw more action this week as two more accused in the act were arrested by Hathipol police on Wednesday night. The investigating team was looking for them since their names were revealed by the two other people arrested in the same case with Panther skins, earlier in the investigation on Tuesday.
Accused Jeetaram and Shankar were nabbed by the police on Wednesdaynight from their hide out at Kelwada village after 2 of their Associates,Prabhulal and Ganesh during their interrogation revealed that the skins were given to them by Shankar, Jeetaram and two other persons fromKelwada village.
During initial interrogation Jeeta and Shankar informed the police that they used to catch Panthers, kill them for their skin and used to sell them in the market. They had earlier met Prabhulal at Fatahpura area in Udaipur and gave him the skin to sell it in the market.
DySPGopal Singh informed that theJeetaram also revealed that he and his aides had sold around 4 Panther skins at Haryana previously, but his information is yet to be verified. Two different teams of police were formed, of which one is searching the other two absconding persons while the other was sent to Haryana for verification of the information revealed by Jeetaram.
Whether the arrested persons are having any link with the syndicate dealing in the sale of animal skins is still being investigated as no clues have been dug out as yet. The interrogations and search operations are still under process.
