Police has arrested one of the accused of the Highway Robbery that occurred few days ago at Eklingpura. The arrested accused Raju alias Rajia Don (22) is a habitual criminal and also confessed to commit more than a dozen similar robberies on highway.

Rajia, resident of Village Bilakh, Rishabhdev and his associates took lift from an Ahmedabad resident and robbed him.

S.P Ajaypal Lamba informed, “The gang is directed by their leader Vinod Meena who is in Jail. Vinod direct his goons over mobile phone. The shocking information was revealed by Rajia during interrogation.”

“We have already informed the Jail authority. Using mobile phones from jail is a serious matter, earlier also there were cases where accused were gang leaders who were operating from Jail.”

Informing more about how police nabbed the accused, S.P Lamba said, “Rajia was arrested from Bilakh when police raided his house early morning today, from where he was rounded off and later arrested when he accepted his crime,” S.P said.

Police team investigating the case tried to identify physical appearance of the accused based on the description given by the victim. Police finally zeroed on Rajia through all information received.

Explaining about the modus operandi of the gang S.P Ajaypal Lamba said, “The gang operated in two ways, either by targeting the cars parked in abandoned areas, where they would simply attack the victim and take all the valuables.”

The other way was making a woman stand on the road side asking for lift. If any driver stopped, he would become their victim.

In further interrogation, Raju revealed the names of the other members of his gang as Sanjay Meena, Dinesh Meena and Ashok Meena, all from Bilkah village.
