The trio was killed on 5th April night at their house, situated at Jhadol village. The murder came into light after the accused himself lodged the report of the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the criminal. His hard luck, that despite playing innocent, the police were able to identify him and got arrested.
The police upon information got into action and started investigating the matter from the local villagers. Following the clues, the suspicion turned towards the deceased Shiv Lal’s brother Mohan for killing his brother, wife and his daughter, informed SP Ajaypal Lamba.
During the interrogation it was found that victim Shiv Lal had mortgaged land to Mohan against Rs.10,000. When asked to return the land with interest on the principal amount by Shiv Lal; Mohan Lal who was unable to pay the interest amount slit the throat of his brother with a sword.
Victim’s wife, who tried to interfere was also attacked and killed by the accused Mohan Lal. Upon hearing their voices, their 10 year old daughter saw the crime and to avoid being caught by the police, Mohan killed the daughter as well at a farm, situated a few meters away from the house.
Except for the main reason of paying the interest amount, another reason added by Mohan as the reason for murder was that he blamed Shiv Lal’s wife to have done black magic on his family, added SP Ajaypal Lamba.
The other kids of the deceased couple have been shifted to his Shiv’s younger brother’s house and being taken care of by grandmother, as per SP.
The police are interrogating Mohan to recover the weapon used for committing the crime.
