While government is struggling hard to make public safety and security more robust, the involvement of policemen in armed assault is raising questions over the claims by administration. One policeman is severely injured when he was allegedly attacked with swords-clad group of people, head by another police official.

The incident occurred yesterday when Bheron Singh, head constable at police line and his nephew Chen Singh were called by Ram Singh constable at Crime Branch to talk on some internal dispute. All of them met at Pato ki Magri, Sewashram where Bheron Singh and his nephew were allegedly attacked by Ram Singh and his men with swords.

Both Bheron Singh and Chen Singh received multiple injuries and admitted in MB Hospital and the case has been registered against the assailant. After getting the information of the mishap, Tejraj Singh, AdSP City; Anant Kumar, DySP east and Satish Meena, C.I. Bhupalpura reached at the hospital, said police.
