A police constable posted at Ambamata police station was caught accepting bribe in a trap led by the anti corruption bureau team of Rajsamand district on Thursday evening. The accused has been nabbed with an amount of Rs.1000 near his police station.
Accused police constable Keshav Lal on October 3 had nabbed two men Jagdish and Rakesh of Salumber from Fatah Sagar Lake in suspicious conditions during night patrolling and rushed them to police station. The constable made a deal with the duo of suspicious men and demanded an amount of Rs.1000 from them for their release, informed AdSP ACB Rajsamand Mahaveer Singh Ranawat.
Ranawat further informed that the accused constable had released the duo and asked them to deliver the bribe amount on Thursday. Meanwhile the duo had complained the ACB team about the demand and after verification, the ACB led a trap and caught the constable red handed.
The police constable is still under interrogation whereas the ACB team is also investigating the role of Sub inspector Sabbir in the whole scene, Ranawat added.
