Farooq Husain, Police Constable and his friend Lalit Dobra were allegedly beaten by a truck driver and Staff members of a Hotel situated on NH.8 near Kaya Village on Sunday night.  The victims claimed that except for the truck driver no strict action was yet taken against the accused staff members of the hotel that attacked them with sticks and swords.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at around 1.30 AM when the duo of Farooq and Lalit were heading towards Udaipur from Tidi village in Farooq’s car.  When they were near Kaya, a truck over took their car and during that their Car went off the road.  Farooq and his friend chased the truck driver and intercepted the truck near Charan Kamal hotel situated on the highway.  The duo had a hot talk with the truck driver but the scene turned ugly when tens of staff members of the hotel allegedly rushed towards the duo with sticks and swords in their hands and started beating them, Farooq said.

Farooq is posted at Goverdhan Vilas police station of the city.  On Sunday night his friend Lalit’s bike broke down near Tidi village when he was heading towards Udaipur and Farooq drove down to help him.

According to Farooq the accused beat them badly, dragged them away from the car and broke the wind shield of the car.  Later, a police team of the Goverdhan Vilas police station rushed to the spot and arrested the truck driver for assaulting the victims, but no action was taken against the Hotel workers.

Station House Officer Mahipal Singh added that he did not have any information about the incidence but he will take appropriate action once he gets more details on the matter.
