A station head officer of Kurabad Police Station was arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau’s special team for taking Rs.25000 bribe regarding investigation of a fraud case.

A station head officer of Kurabad Police Station was arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau’s special team for taking Rs.25000 bribe regarding investigation of a fraud case.

The case was lodged in Goverdhan Vilas Police Station where the accused officer was posted a month ago but then he was transferred to Kurabad. The accused SHO Suresh Kumar Khatik was arrested from the house of the applicant where he came to collect bribe money.

According to Umesh Ojha, Ad. S.P ACB, a fraud case of Rs.25 Lac was lodged at Goverdhan Vilas Police Station and Khatik was the investigation officer. He demanded bribe from the applicant to do investigation in his favor.

The accused first demanded 10 percent of Rs.25lac which is 2.5 Lac rupees but in the meantime, accused SHO was transferred to Kurabad Police Station. Though even after getting transferred, the SHO continued demanding money and after negotiation the final amount reached to Rs.25000.

Yesterday on 11th Aug, when the accused came to the house of applicant at Hiran Magri, the ACB team arrested him with the bribe amount.

Suresh Kumar joined police department in 1997 as sub inspector and was transferred to Udaipur.
