An assistant sub-inspector of Dowda Police Station, Dungerpur was beaten and robbed by a gang of robbers at Kherwara last night.

Sub-Inspector Lalit Meena was returning to his police station alone after investigating a case in Kherwara when the incident occured. The suspects stopped him at Kalyanpura and proceeded to beat up the victim before taking Rs. 2200 and a gold chain from the unconscious personnel. The gang also reportedly damaged the service vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Meena lodged a complaint at Kherwara Police station soon after he regained consciousness. The police has launched a massive manhunt to find and arrest the accused persons.
