Police Recovers Rs.8 Lac in Fake-Gold Case

Police has recovered Rs.8 Lac from the house of accused Puraram Bagri who allegedly duped a local businessman by giving him fake gold bars and acquiring Rs.15 Lac. Police has raided Bagri’s house in Jhalor and recovered Rs.8 Lac from his house.

However, the accused Puraram Bagri managed to escape but police hopes to nab him soon.

The victim Sankit Tak, resident of Hiran Magri lodged a complaint that two men and a woman came to her shop and requested for cash, saying that their relative was admitted in the hospital, they needed urgent cash for his treatment. They had 3kg of Gold with them and were willing to sell the Gold for cash.

The accused said that, these pieces of gold were found by them during the digging of the foundation of their house. The deal was finalized at Rs. 15 Lac and after verification of a unit of Gold, which was found to be 100% pure, the Gold was exchanged for Rs. 15 Lac on Friday, 26 July when both the parties met at the Railway Gate at Sector 8, Hiran Magri.

Later Tak discovered that all the 3Kgs of Gold was fake and that they had been duped. Initially the victim searched for the crooks, and after failing to get any leads, lodged a complaint with the Hiran Magri Police.
