Praveen Paliwal Murder Case: Gunman opens fire on witness
Monday evening turned frightful in the city after a history sheeter and an accused of Praveen Paliwal’s murder case opened fire on one of the witnesses of the murder case to refrain him from giving statement in the court.

But the scene took a turn when one Bhupendra Rawal intruded in between and got hit by the bullet instead. He was rushed to the private hospital immediately.
The victim Bhupendra Rawal informed that on Monday evening he went to Choudhary Hospital with his friend Jagat Paliwal to meet Praveen Paliwal’s father. After meeting him, the due headed towards Sai Baba Temple, Sector 5 in Hiran Magri. After that, they went to Jamarkota to have tea.
Bhupendra added that whilst they were having tea at the stall, the accused Bharat Nath and his associate (who could not be recognized as he was wearing helmet) came near them and threatened Jagat to not give his statement in the court against him. When the argument turned ugly, Bharat took out a pistol and opened fire at him. Bhupendra tried to intervene and in that attempt he got hit by the bullet and was injured severely.
Upon getting the information of the mishap, a number of local people and police officers including AdSP Dr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, SHOs of Hiran Magri, Bhopalpura and Hathipol police stations rushed to the hospital.
According to police, Bharat and his unidentified associate are absconding and their search has been initiated. A case of attempt of murder has been registered against the accused duo and the investigation has been started.
