Prisoner Attacks Police Constable in Court

The premises of Udaipur Sessions Court got tensed up today afternoon when a notorious prisoner brought for trial had allegedly attacked a police constable before attempting to abscond away. However, police officials took the situation under control and locked up the prisoner.

The premises of Udaipur Sessions Court got tensed up today afternoon when a notorious prisoner brought for trial had allegedly attacked a police constable before attempting to abscond away. However, police officials took the situation under control and locked up the prisoner.

A case of assault has been lodged in the Bhopalpura Police station against Vinod alias Bakri, who is serving his term in Central Jail of Udaipur from last 2 years and was convicted in several criminal offences.

According to sources, 52 inmates including Vinod were brought today in Sessions Court for trial, before the beginning of trial all of them were kept in two lock-ups located in the Court premises. Vinod kept insisting to shift him in the other lockup.

When police ignored his continuous plea, he allegedly started abusing them. Later, while taking to courtroom for his trial, Vinod allegedly attacked and assaulted Brahuddin Mehar (in photo above), a police constable on duty.

Mehar resisted the assault until few policemen rushed to rescue their colleague. Vinod was put back behind the bars and his trial was also adjourned.

Vinod alias Bakri, resident of Lal Magri, Hiran Magri is a history-sheeter and has more than 25 cases lodged against him in police stations.
