The accused of the most talked about rape case of Pratapgarh has been sentenced to death by a local court on Friday. The accused was also penalized with cash amount of Rs. 10,000.
The hearing was related to the case of 2013 where the horrifying incidence of rape took place in which the accused raped a minor girl and crashed her head with a stone.
The accused was identified as Prahalad (25) of Bhatolia village. Victim’s father informed the police that his daughter was taken away with an excuse and next morning, her dead body was recovered from the nearby jungle. A case had been registered against the accused under section 302,376 of IPC and 3/4 of POSCO act.
Eventually in the presence of 14 evidences and 31 relevant documents, the court under Surendra Kumar Swami sentenced the accused to death on Friday.
Evidences: On the day of incidence the victim girl was last seen with her uncle, the accused. The accused had brought a chocolate from a local shop of the village. Besides that, the report by Forensic Lab, Birth Certificate, place of incidence also played an important role in the decision.
Court while giving the final verdict mentioned that even though the victim girl use to call the accused her uncle as her mother used to tie Rakhi to him, then also he ignored all the social bonds and committed the serious crime which is an insult of humanity. The minor girl (8) was not even in the condition to protest against the accused. The accused is a threat to the society and there is no chance to give mercy to him.
This is to be consider that this is the second case of such a big decision in POSCO Act as in 2013 a similar decision of sentence to death had been given to an accused at Rajsamand where he killed a minor girl after raping her.
