Rashid Khan, resident of 80 feet road, Ambamata was arrested with illegal arms by Bhopalpura police from Keshav Nagar on Monday. The accused was booked under various sections of Arms act and his weapons confiscated.

The accused was arrested near Jain Temple in Ambamata area while he was roaming with an illegal pistol and 2 cartridges in his possession. Police came in action in the evening after the information from the sources. Soon a joint team of Bhopalpura police and STF raided the area and nabbed the accused, said SHO Chandmal Singaria.

Chandmal further added that Rashid in his initial interrogation revealed that he had bought the weapon and bullets from Balwant Singh who is a history sheeter of Surajpol police station.

Chandmal said that they are investigation into the matter to ascertain the accused involved in the circulation of the illegal weapons.
