Robbery on road; jewelry looted

A woman travelling as pillion on a moving two wheeler was looted in broad day light. Under the pretext of taking directions, three people on a motorbike snatched a bag containing gold jewelry off the victim, Rashmi Jain.

As per sources, more than 7 tola of gold jewelry worth lakhs of rupees and some cash were said to have been in the bag. The incident occurred today afternoon near a residency park near ING Vysya Bank, opposite the Monalisa photo studio.

As per sources, more than 7 tola of gold jewelry worth lakhs of rupees and some cash were said to have been in the bag. The incident occurred today afternoon near a residency park near ING Vysya Bank, opposite the Monalisa photo studio.

The victims, Rashmi and Rishi Gandhi, are siblings and own a jewelry shop at Haridas Ji ki Magri. According to the FIR lodged, the siblings were on their way to Rishabh Travels, Panchvati to book a bus ticket, when three people came in on a motorbike and asked them directions to Nathdwara.

When Rashmi raised her hand to show the directions, one of the riders snatched the bag and all three of them fled away on the motorbike. According to Rashmi, the incident occurred so quick that they could pick up the number plate or even have a look at the faces of the culprits.

Rishi first informed Inder Singh Mehta, President of Jeweler’s Association and the three of them lodged a FIR at Hathipol Police Station.

Thereafter, SHO Ratan Chawla visited the incident spot and interrogated nearby residents. However, no clue could be gathered on the culprits.
