Rs. 1 lac Stolen from Leela Palace’s Front Office

According to the police, two of the front office employees, Mayur Bhati and Sneha left the hotel after completing their shift at 4:30 pm. Both of them, however, realized that they had forgotten to lock the cash counter and rushed back to the office. On reaching there, they found that out of the Rs. 2 Lakhs kept there, Rs. 1 Lakhs were missing.

 

Rs. 1 lac Stolen from Leela Palace’s Front OfficeUdaipur’s Ambamata Police Station started investigating another case of theft at Hotel Leela Palace which took place on Saturday afternoon. The FIR for the same was lodged today by the hotel administration.

According to the police, two of the front office employees, Mayur Bhati and Sneha left the hotel after completing their shift at 4:30 pm. Both of them, however, realized that they had forgotten to lock the cash counter and rushed back to the office. On reaching there, they found that out of the Rs. 2 Lakhs kept there, Rs. 1 Lakhs were missing.

They immediately informed the management of the hotel about the incidence. Interestingly, the rest of the money in the counter had remained untouched.

“The hotel management informed us too late and that too not with the proper details. However, we have started our investigation on the basis of a few key aspects of the employees present at the time of incidence,” said Niranjan Alaha, C.I at Ambamata Police Station.

A similar incident had been reported by Leela Palace over a month ago, in which a client’s bag, containing lakhs of rupees, a laptop and other valuables, were stolen from the hotel’s restaurant but were later found in the swimming pool.
