Kherwada police on Tuesday morning seized a truck container containing illegal liquor and arrested the accused driver for carrying it without any documents. The market value of the liquor is assumed to be around Rs. 50 Lac.

The truck container was spotted by the police during a barricading launched at Rani Road. The truck driver tried to escape from the scene but was chased by the police team and caught near Muthali village, Kherwada. Various variety of liquor in 1403 cartons was recovered, as informed by police.

According to the police it was first case where a huge amount of illegal liquor was recovered from a truck container of market value to be approx Rs. 50 Lac.

The arrested driver was identified as Kalvindra Singh (49) of Hasanpur village, Patiyala. During the initial interrogation the accused revealed that the liquor is made in Harayana but the place from where it was to be delivered is coming is yet to be known, police said.
