Udaipur Police has arrested 34 people mostly from Gujarat for allegedly gambling at a dhaba situated at Jhanjari Village of Udaipur, situated just 3 kms far from Gujarat Border. Police has also seized Rs. 8,57,450 from the accused.

S.P Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that all arrested are residents of Paatna, Sola and Gandhinagar district of Gujarat and most of them are local businessmen.

The operation was executed when few days back SHO Rajendra Jain of Ambamata Police Station received information of the gambling racket actively running by one Yusufbhai of Gandhinagar at a dhaba in Jhanjhari owned by Deepak Meena. After verification of the information, a team of Nai Police raided the dhaba and arrested 34 people red handed.

The key accused Yusuf informed police that he started gambling in dhaba from last 27 days. He used to invite interested people to play and start the gambling at 4 in afternoon till 8 pm. The dhaba was favorable hiding spot too as it is situated in jungle, informed accused.
