An Assistant Engineer of RSEB, Railmagra who was caught by Anti Corruption Bureau in 2002 for taking bribe, was sentenced to 2 years of hard imprisonment and penalized with Rs. 2000 by the court yesterday.

As per Rajesh Dhadke, Assistant Public Prosecutor, “Chandra Singh Ostwal of Mahaveer Colony, Sector 4, Hiran Magri demanded Rs. 3000 as a bribe against allotting electric connection in June 2000.”

“The applicant filed a complaint at Anti Corruption Bureau, Rajsamand on 19^th June and the team of Bureau trapped the officer on 21st June with an amount of Rs. 1500 in cash. The accused Assistant Engineer was under trial since and yesterday court sentenced the accused for 2 years of hard Imprisonment and 2000 cash as a penalty,” he added.
