Three imposters posing as Policemen in Civil Clothes swindled a Marketing Executive off Rs. 50,000 yesterday evening.

Suva Lal Meena, 33, resident of Dudu works with Bagvati Trading Company, trading in bicycle parts and was on his collection trips across multiple cities in Rajasthan. He had left Jaipur and covered Kapasan, Mavli and was leaving for Banswara after completing his tasks in Udaipur.

The incident occurred while he was going towards Udiapol Bus Stand to catch a bus for Banswara, when three persons posing as Policemen in plain clothes stopped him outside Sankalp Restaurant near Mewar Motors and asked him to handover his suitcase for scrutiny. They also showed him an identity card bearing the name S.K. Sharma.

While one of them scanned his luggage, the other two interrogated him. They then handed over the suitcase to him and dispersed. After going a few steps toward the Bus Stand, Suva Lal had a suspicion and he checked his suitcase. He found that the cash which he was carrying was short by Rs. 50,000. He originally had Rs. 90,000 in his suitcase, while now only Rs. 40,000 were available in the suitcase.

He immediately rushed to Surajpol Police Station, narrated the entire incident and lodged the complaint. On getting the information, the Police immediately got into action and established blockades across various in the city. The search is still on as per latest reports received from the Police Station.
