Three people were arrested today for allegedly firing on a man and injuring him seriously in a shootout incident that occurred around 8 pm on Thursday, 26^th January, near the Choudhary Hospital, Hiran Magri, Sector 4.

The accused, Shailender Jain (27) s/o Ajitprakash Jain of Shanti Nagar, Sector 5; Mohit Khanna (22) s/o Shailendra Khanna, resident of Kashipuri, Sector 5 and Abhimanyu alias Happy Harijan (25) s/o Om Prakash, a resident of Gayatrinagar, Sector 5, were arrested in a manhunt launched by the Hiranmagri Police today after they’d fired on Chiranjeev Singh Asiya s/o Vivek Singh Asiya from P.N.T Colony, Hiranmagri.

Chiranjeev has been admitted to the General Hospital in a critical condition and according to Police, he has been hurt badly on his abdomen.

According to Police sources, two of the accused, Mohit Khanna and Abhimanyu have criminal records and accused in famous Kuldeep Murder Case and have been threatening Chiranjeev for life as they suspected him to be a police informer and of updating the police on their activities.

While talking to UT, Police officer of Hiran Magri Thana said, “On the night of Thursday, 26^th January, when Chiranjeev and a few of his friends were standing near Choudhary Hospital, all the three accused confronted and started abusing Chiranjeev and subsequently fired bullets, thereby seriously injuring him.”

According to Jaideep Singh, uncle of Chiranjeev, “he was rushed to hospital by his friends and relatives in a critical condition and admitted to the ICU ward of M.B. Hospital.”

Chiranjeev works in Hotel Ambe Palace at Udiapol, while the accused Shailender works as a medical representative. Abhimanyu is a mobile repairer and Mohit Khanna owns a tea stall.
