SIM card retailer arrested for providing SIMs to Prisoners

During the ongoing drive of tightening jail security and stopping illicit usage of mobile phones by the inmates, police arrested four people including a SIM card retailer for availing SIM cards to the prisoners

 

During the ongoing drive of tightening jail security and stopping illicit usage of mobile phones by the inmates, police arrested four people including a SIM card retailer for availing SIM cards to the prisoners.

5 mobile phones were found hidden inside the television set kept in the barrack no.8 and 10 of Udaipur central jail. The phones were recovered during the surprise check conducted by DIG Jail and S.P of the district.

Following the incidence, a report has been given to Surajpol Police station by the Jailer and a case has been registered under section 66 of I.T Act and its investigation has been started. During investigation few more sections like 420,467,468,471 & 120b IPC were added too which include using fake identification proofs for issuing the SIM cards and sending it inside the jail by using false means.

By using technical aid, police identified three prisoners, Chandra Prakash, Kailash and Duda Alias Udailal for using mobile phones and were taken on production warrant.  The accused revealed the name of a retailer Bal Krishna Tailor of Dabok for providing them SIM cards using fake identification proofs.

Police has also arrested Bal Krishna and started interrogating them.
