SSA’s Asst. Engineer caught while accepting Bribe

The Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday netted an Assistant Engineer of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Office while he was taking a bribe amount of Rs. 5000 from the victim principal of a Government school against passing the bills of newly constructed rooms of the school.

The Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday netted an Assistant Engineer of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Office while he was taking a bribe amount of Rs. 5000 from the victim principal of a Government school against passing the bills of newly constructed rooms of the school.

The bribe amount was confiscated while the accused was nabbed and shifted to ACB office, said AdSP ACB Brijesh Soni.

Soni also said that his team came in action after getting the complaint against the accused A.En Shyam Lal from the victim Principal of Government School on 26th February. After verifying the complaint the team ACB conducted a raid near collectorate and arrested the accused red handed. The bribe amount was found from his pocket which was confiscated.

The victim informed ACB officials that she was having some Rs. 60,000 worth of bills of newly constructed rooms of government school Salumbar pending out of the total Rs. 66,000 allotted since she was made the Principal.

As after the construction of 2 new rooms at the school she got transferred to the Govt. School Bassi and the bills remained pending, but later when she met the A.En for passing the bill, he demanded Rs. 10,000 for the same. On 26th February the victim and her husband went to ACB office and lodged a complaint against the accused.

The interrogation of the accused is going on and ACB team is also conducting the house search of the accused.

In the initial investigation it was found that the accused Intodiya was posted as A.En at the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan office since 2014.
