Two students were injured after being assaulted today morning and were admitted to hospital. The assault happened when an argument between auto rickshaw drivers and students staying in the JC Bose Hostel turned violent and resulted into a clash.

The Police have detained 9 people for their involvement in the fight, but no written complaint has been lodged by anyone.

The problem started when a few auto rickshaw drivers alleged that some students staying in the hostel commute in their auto for free and when they requested to pay the fare, the students thrashed them. According to the rickshaw drivers, this problem is going on since many days.

According to one auto driver, last night the same incident happened. A group of auto-rickshaw drivers came to the hostel to complain to the administration today morning. The students who were present at the gate, started arguing with them and also tried to attack them.
