In a freak incident, an attempt of chain snatching resulted in injuries to a lady and her daughter whereas the attackers fled away empty-handed. Fortunately, the victim lady recognized one of the accused and within few hours police caught both the suspects.

The incident was reported at Fatehpura when29-year-old Jyoti Bhati and her 11 year old daughter were going on scooter. Two people in a car came close to Jyoti and made an attempt at snatching the gold chain from her neck. The chain however broke due to the impact and Jyoti and her daughter fell down as she lost balance.

Parts of the broken chain remained with Jyoti and the attackers fled away. Jyoti and her daughter sustained minor injuries.

Immediately after the incident, Jyoti lodged police complaint against one of the accused Prabhav Mitra Meghwal whom she recognized during the attack. Meghwal is the neighbor of Jyoti.

Meghwal’s arrest was soon followed by arrest of another accused Shankarlal Khatik, both residents of Bedla.
