Udaipur police on Friday launched a search operation at the  city’s roadways bus stand and called the dog squad Team after a ‘suspicious bag’ was found there by one of the staff members.

“We have received the information that a bag was lying at the bus stand compound under suspicious circumstance. Upon getting the information about the incidence our team rushed to the scene and later a dog squad was also called to assist in the search operation,” said Station House Officer of Surajpol Police Station Jitendra Anchaliaya.

The SHO added that the bus stand had been emptied and thoroughly checked but everyone heaved a sigh of relief as the bag was found containing only few edible items in it and nothing more than that. The bag was seized by the police.

There was a panic at the bus stand when the staff member spotted the bag lying unattended at the premises. After waiting for more than half an hour when nobody came to claim it, the staff informed the police with a doubt of having a bomb inside it.

The police team took the information seriously and reached the bus stand in no time; beginning the operation. Soon the dog squad also reached the spot under the supervision of Shurveer Singh, CID officer of Udaipur zone.
