An increasing number of thefts, especially those involving robberies in vacant houses had prompted the city police to begin a thorough search and investigation into the persons behind this and their modus operandi.
An increasing number of thefts, especially those involving robberies in vacant houses had prompted the city police to begin a thorough search and investigation into the persons behind this and their modus operandi.
Two minor boys, were caught by the Police as a result of this operation. The Ambamata Police apprehended two boys; after their interrogation with the culprits caught earlier, led them to the new group. The boys, on being interrogated by the Police, revealed the names of three of their senior accomplices, Raju alias Lora, Madan Kalbelia and Mobin.
As per the boys, the three above named used to recce across various colonies in day time and make a note of how many houses were left vacant or which houses were not having their owners present in them. After a few such recce, the trio, along with the two boys, used to rob such houses, mostly at night.
The boys further informed that they have stolen items, jewellery and cash worth lacs of rupees from 11 houses in many colonies across the city. Houses in Ambamata, Pratap Nagar, Goverdhan Vilas and Hiran Magri have been targeted by the trio till date. In Ambamata, houses in Rampura and Purbia Colony had been targeted.
The boys are being interrogated further, and search for the three other persons named by the boys has commenced.
