Shaukeen Shah (18) died today early morning during treatment. He was admitted in critically injured condition last night after falling from his motorcycle.

Shaukeen Shah (18) died today early morning during treatment. He was admitted in critically injured condition last night after falling from his motorcycle.

The mishap occurred when a traffic police constable allegedly hit his baton on Shaukeen who apparently lost control and fell on the ground.

Family members and community people expressed anger and demanded compensation of the loss as the deceased was the sole bread earner of his family.

Shaukeen, resident of Payda was working as an iron welder at Loha Bazar. The incident occurred last night at Court Chouraha when Shaukeen and his friend Saif were passing through the circle.

According to Saif who was a pillion rider, when they crossed the chouraha it was green signal but reaching halfway it turned red. Subsequently a traffic policeman saw them and allegedly hit his baton on Shaukeen’s hand. He immediately lost control over his bike and hit the road divider.

The accident was so serious that it injured Shaukeen’s liver and private parts leaving him critically injured. His friend Saif who sustained minor injuries rushed him to MB Hospital. Today at around 3:35am Shaukeen succumbed to his injuries.

A large number of community people including members of Muslim Mahasabha reached hospital and demanded Rs.5 Lac as compensation, all government welfare schemes to victim’s family and also demanded to lodge the complaint under IPC302 and arrest of the accused police official.

All senior police officers including additional force of MBC were deployed outside the hospital.

ADM City Mohammad Yaseen Pathan announced compensation of Rs.50000 from CM relief fund; Rs.50000 was announced by Mohammad Farukh Hussain of BJP Minority Cell, Rs.50000 from Garib Nawaz Committee and Muslim Mahasabha.

Sudhir Joshi (Additional S.P.) informed that the case is registered under section 304IPC and investigation will be done. The identity of the accused policeman is still under investigation.
