A 22 year old man was arrested today by Surajpol police for stealing ornaments and cash from his neighbor’s house on 26^th October. The stolen articles and cash were recovered and the accused was booked under the charges of Burglary.

As per Police, accused Asif Khan Alias Pegambar stole gold ornaments and Rs. 68,000 cash from his relative Mohammad Husain’s house on 26^th October while Hussain was out of city.  After the theft, Asif rushed to Gulab Bagh and buried all the items under the ground except some cash.

In the initial interrogation, Asif also accepted stealing a motor bike from Raza Nagar of Kishanpol area in 2013 whose report was also registered at the station.

Police recovered a gold chain, gold ear tops, gold necklace and Rs. 38,000 cash from him.

Name of the accused came to light when investigation of the matter started and the team included of SHO Ramesh Kumar and his force Mohammad Athar, Ganesh Singh, Fatah Singh ASI and others.

In the investigation, it came out that the accused was seen wandering around the victim’s house when he was out. Upon getting the information, Asif was detained and interrogated, as per police.
