The day light theft racket was busted by police after arresting 3 accused members of the gang on Tuesday that accepted stealing valuables worth Rs. 1 Cr from across the city.

The day light theft racket was busted by police after arresting 3 accused members of the gang on Tuesday that accepted stealing valuables worth Rs. 1 Cr from across the city.

The criminals claimed targeting 21 houses on record and many others where FIR is not lodged from the victim. However, 2 other members of the gang are on a run for who a search operation is in motion.

The accused were identified as Ratan Dangi and Gopal Dangi of Lakadwas and Dinesh Dangi of Indra Colony, Goverdhan Vilas. During the anti-theft drive initiated by SP, SHO-Hiran Magri police station Chagan Purohit received a tip off upon suspicious activities of Ratan. After verification, Ratan’s house was raided by police and accepted committing crime with gang members. Later, he revealed names and address of his associates after which 2 were arrested, informed SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal.

One of the biggest incidences was committed by the accused a year back at the house of victim Mukesh Gandhi where they had stolen cash, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 25 Lac. Other than this, a house at sector 5 was targeted from where they stole sanitary products valuing around Rs. 90,000. Similarly, houses at Titardi, Basant Vihar, Shanti Nagar, Verma Colony and Gokul Village were targeted by them, added SP.

Talking about the modus operandi of the accused SP R.P Goyal said that they used to keep a watch on the isolated houses or closed houses in the day time and within few minutes they used to enter the house and loot.
