Three fake CID officers arrested in Extortion case
A trio of conmen was arrested by the police on Friday while they were recovering money from a victim in the name of providing him job at Labor department. They had also threatened the victim for lodging a police complaint against them by posing as press reporters.

SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal informed that he had received some inputs about a trio of accused that were posing as fake press reporters and CID officers threatening the people with an intention to recover huge amount of money from them. The joint team of cops launched a confidential search of the trio during which they got some clues about them.
After verification, the team raided Chetak Circle area and spotted the accused having an argument with a man. Upon enquiring, the victim Narayan Goswami informed that the trio was threatening him to retrieve cash of Rs. 1 Lac. Narayan further added that the accused, identified as Kailash Bhandari (40), Hemant Paliwal (28) and Dev Bhardwaj (20) had already taken Rs. 50,000 from him on the pretext of finding him a job at labor department, SP said.
The victim also informed police that during their first meeting the accused conmen Kailash and Hemant introduced them as CID officers and showed the fake ID cards of the department. Later, their aid Dev was introduced who assured him of a job, SP added.
Police has arrested the accused and booked them under various sections of Indian Penal Code. The cops are also trying to recover the fake ID cards from the accused and making an attempt to know more details about their racket.
