Three accused including 2 hunters and a dealer involved in killing and selling of panther’s skins were arrested by Hathipol police on Monday. The arrested accused revealed vital information regarding the nexus of Panther skin selling.

Three accused including 2 hunters and a dealer involved in killing and selling of panther’s skins were arrested by Hathipol police on Monday. The arrested accused revealed vital information regarding the nexus of Panther skin selling.

Accused Kisan alias Kanha and his relative Ramesh were arrested from their native village Kelwada of Rajsamand district wereas the 3rd accused Satyawaan Bhawri was also nabbed by the police from Hisar village of Haryana on the information of the previously arrested accused.

Satyawaan during his interrogation revealed that till now he has sold 4 Panther skins in the International Market through Sansaar Chand who had links there but died last year.

The duo accused Ramesh and Kishan informed the police that they were introduced to Satyawaan by their associate Jitaram who was arrested by the cops previously. Satyawaan motivated them to kill panthers and offered them with cash for the same.

Ramesh further said that the panthers were killed by them at Kunwaria villages of Udaipur and the skins were handed over to Satyawaan against which he gave them Rs.2000 each, but later they had a dispute over the payments and got separated 1.5 years back after which Ramesh and Kishan visited Udaipur and motivated accused Prabhu Lal and Ganesh Nagda to work with them.

But, bad luck they were nabbed by the Hathipol police at Shiksha Bawan Choraha with 2 Panther skins, DySP Gopal Singh Bhari added.

The accused Satyawaan while talking about another incidence informed the police that he was in the trade for as long as around 3 years back with one his brother Balwaan was also nabbed by Ajmer Police with 2 Panther Skins in a train. Upon interrogation, he revealed that the skins were purchased by him from a man Bhura of Kunwaria village of Udaipur, said DySP.

DySP further added that Satyawaan hails from Hisar village of Haryana and runs a small business of shawls, in which name he use to visit various villages connecting to jungles and motivated the villagers to kill Panthers for the safety of their livestock or against money.

This is considerable that till now 7 accused involved in the trade of Panther Skin were arrested including the hunters and dealer. Police is now interrogating the trio of accused further about the whole network and also to collect more facts about the trade.
