A transport inspector from Nimbaheda check-post has been nabbed by the Anti Corruption Bureau for his alleged involvement in taking bribe from truck drivers for passing their vehicles.

Ishwar Koti, the transport inspector appointed at Nimbaheda check post has been charged with illegally collecting an amount to the extent of Rs. 66,290/-, which is said to be forcefully collected from truck drivers passing through the highway.

According to one of the ACB officers, a team led by Inspector General of ACB T.C Damor with A.D.S.P Rajendra Prasad Goyal and Rajendra Singh Jain, Jitendra Sanadhya and Akhtar Khan of ACB raided the office located at Nimbaheda check-post at around 4 in the morning today, and arrested the accused Ishwar Koti.

According to sources, Ishwar had also appointed few people to collect the money from truck drivers on his behalf and deposit it in one of the nearby hotels.

One of the officers, on condition of anonymity has said that “We were informed about his wrongdoings. He used to take Rs.1,000; 1,500; 2,000; etc from drivers.”

Ishwar Koti is a resident of Chittorgarh and working in Nimbaheda for some time now. He has been arrested and taken to the ACB office at Udaipur.
