Dhan Mandi Police on Friday arrested a trio from Meena Pada area for selling 1 Kg and 80 Grams of fake gold necklace.

The accused identified as Pumpa, Sugna of Ahmedabad and their aid Raju from Jhalor, were nabbed from the victim’s house while they were caught dealing with him for Rs 5 Lac for the gold necklace, police said.

The story started on 30th June when victim Deepak Khandelwal of Meena Pada saw them in his area and after a conversation, the trio narrated a fake story that they had found an antique gold necklace worth Rs. 35 Lac during restoration of an old temple in Ahmedabad. But as they were in need of cash, they agreed to sell the rare piece of gold in negotiated price of Rs. 5 Lac.

After the deal, it was decided that the necklace will be delivered on 3rd July at the victim’s house. Due to suspicion on the trio, the victim informed police about the trio and based on that the cops of Dhan Mandi Police station raided the victim’s house and arrested the trio with the fake gold, informed police.

The accused are under police interrogation; trying to collect more information in relation to the rackets active in cheating people in different ways.
