A 19-year old woman fractured her leg when a truck overran her at the Thokar Chouraha today afternoon. The accident occurred when a truck allegedly rammed into a bike.

Shanta and her husband Pappu Gameti, residents of Undri village were on their way to Aavri Mata on a motorcycle, when a truck came from behind and hit the motorbike, causing the bike to lose balance and thereby both the riders fell on the road. According to some eye witnesses, the rear wheel of the truck ran over the left leg of Shanta, while her husband was safe with minor injuries.

According to Pappu Gameti, a few people of the locality caught the truck driver and handed him over to the police. Shanta was rushed to MB Hospital for treatment.
