Truck loaded with illegal liquor seized, police suspects excise officer

According to sources, last night of 5 Nov at 10pm. Hiran Magri Police team led by C. I. Kailash Khatik under the direction of Dy. S. P. Anant Kumar got the tip off about a truck containing Haryana made liquor lying outside the house of excise officer. Two people, including the truck driver and another person have been detained by the police.
The truck was full of vegetables on the outset, however after an intense search, more than 1000 boxes of liquor found hidden beneath the vegetable boxes.
Truck driver Jagdish Bhatt and a localite identified as Partha Dangi were arrested. The value of liquor is not yet confirmed, but it is not less than lacs of rupees. As per the initial interrogation, the detainees have revealed that they were first detained by the suspected excise officer who later asked them to take the truck near his residence.
Police has also informed Excise Department and investigation has started to check the alleged involvement of excise officer.
