Hiran Magri police arrested 2 con men for cheating a dozen of people over doing business and decamped with the valuable costing more than Rs. 1 Cr. One of their associates is still absconding.

The scene began 3 months back with Gujaratis, the two accused Alok Patel alias Sandeep and Bhavesh Patel who started their firms under the name Om Traders and Shree Nath Traders at Sub City Center. Initially, they made relations with rice traders at Bundi and electronic appliance traders of Udaipur.

After gaining reputation in the market, Alok ordered a big consignment of rice costing Rs. 55 Lac and his associate ordered a electronic appliances costing Rs. 27.5 Lac and thereafter fled from the city with the consignment, said SHO Chagan Purohit.

He further added that post few days, appliance trader victim Amit Kumar Jain filed a report, along with 10 other rice traders of Bundi after which the probing of the matter initiated.

Based on the bank details, the police verified the address and raided the house in which accused Alok was arrested. He gave the information about his associate Bhavesh who was also caught by the police from his hideout, police informed.

The accused admitted committing the crime in the name of fake firms. They had fled away from the city and sold the appliances at high prices to other people. Both are under custody remand till 27th April and the investigation of the absconding Kannu Bhai is still on.
