Udaipur police on Tuesday arrested two members of an interstate gang involved in theft and burglary in Udaipur and Gujarat. The duo has been booked under various sections of IPC and their interrogation is still on.

Udaipur police on Tuesday arrested two members of an interstate gang involved in theft and burglary in Udaipur and Gujarat. The duo has been booked under various sections of IPC and their interrogation is still on.

The accused were identified by the police as Harish Meena and his aide Bhanwar Meena of Pal Sepur village, Udaipur district. Police while investigating the matter of a gold earring snatching that occurred at the house of Devi Lal Patel situated at Sarada village got the inputs about Harish’s involvement in the incidence.

After getting the information from the sources a team started a search and finally caught him from near his house on Tuesday. During the initial interrogation Harish accepted snatching gold ornaments with the help of Bhanwar from an old lady Maan Bai who was sleeping at Patel’s house on August 25. Later the team also arrested Bhanwar on Harish’s information and rushed him to Sarada Police station, said Station House Officer Sarada Hanuwant Singh Soda.

Soda further added that besides accepting the incidence of gold earring snatching the duo also revealed stealing cash from the donation boxes and ornaments worn by the statues from three temples situated at Chawand and Sarada area.

During the police interrogation it was found that their gang had committed theft at various areas of Udaipur and Samlaji and Idar areas of Gujurat. The cops are putting their efforts to recover the stolen articles and cash from the accused and also to get more information about the gang, SHO informed.
