Udaipur divisional commissioner Dr. Subodh Kumar Agarwal is sentenced to 30 days of prison and Rs.50000 cash penalty for the contempt of court. The verdict came regarding a case in Bharatpur District while Agarwal was posted as District Collector there.

The then district Ration Officer of Bharatpur Harbhajan Singh got the same sentence. The orders were given by the Additional Civil Judge Kedar Nath.

Regarding the orders when Dr. Subodh was contacted by a local daily, he said “It’s a matter of regulation; we are planning to take legal action in advance”.

Incidence: Advocate of the applicant Chandra Mohan Gupta informed that, Dr. Subodh Agarwal instructed to seize a Petrol Pump where as the court disagreed with the orders and asked the collector as well as the Tehsildar not to take any action against the petrol pump.
