Udaipur News: Police Crackdown Across 874 Locations; 298 Arrested in Biggest District-Wide Action
Those arrested include 12 persons wanted for serious offenses, viz. murder, attempted murder, robbery, violation of Arms Act, NDPS, Excise Act etc.
Udaipur, June 29, 2026: Crime and Police Updates: The Udaipur District Police conducted a massive crackdown across the district on Sunday, June 28. The exercise was part of an extensive special operation to arrested wanted criminals and exercise control over crime in the region.
In the coordinated crackdown across the district, raids were conducted at over 874 locations, that resulted in the arrest of 298 criminals and individuals with criminal tendencies.
As per the police department the raid was conducted under the directions of Udaipur SP Amrita Duhan. Nearly 460 police personnel grouped across111 police teams under the supervision of ASP Umesh Ojha and ASP Anjana Sukhwal alongwith all Circle Officers effected the coordinated simultaneous raids across the district.
Of those arrested, 12 persons were marked criminals wanted for serious offenses, including murder, attempted murder, robbery and for acts that were in violation of the Arms Act, NDPS and Excise Act. 77 were arrested under permament warrants and 12 under arrest warrants. Eight suspects wanted in general cases and three accused under the Gambling Act were also apprehended. 186 persons were arrested and bound under Sections 170, 172 and 129 of the BNSS 2023, while 100 were previously charge-sheeted criminals bound down in accordance with legal provisions. 20 cases were registed during the operation and 7 accused were arrested under the Excise Act, 1 accused under the Arms Act and 3 accused under the Gambling Act.
Homes of 73 history-sheeters were raised across the district, where the members were questioned on the accused's current activities.
District Superintendent of Police Dr. Amrita Duhan stated that such special campaigns against criminals will continue in the future to ensure robust law and order in the district and maintain a sense of security among the general public.
