Udaipur police on Saturday arrested a trio from Ghaziabad, UP who cheated a victim of the city for Rs. 32 Lac by hacking and falsely transferring the amount from his bank account.

Udaipur police on Saturday arrested a trio from Ghaziabad, UP who cheated a victim of the city for Rs. 32 Lac by hacking and falsely transferring the amount from his bank account.

The arrested were identified as Ranvijay Singh Rajput (23) of U.P, Lalit Kumar Khatik (25) of Delhi and Ankur Bahrdwaj (23) of Delhi East. The absconding trio had cheated the victim Manohar Lal Shrimali of Gokul Village on August 4 by falsely transferring an amount of Rs 32 Lac from his bank account by hacking his account details using Internet.

Manohar  Lal, a retired Professor had lodged an FIR at Hiran Magri police station against the accused soon after which an investigation team came into action, said SP Rajendra Prasad Goyal.

Goyal further informed that the accused was produced in a local court that remanded them under 10-day police custody. Police recovered a laptop and few other instruments from the accused used by them in executing their racket. The accused are still under police interrogation and efforts are on to recover the cash transferred by them from the victim’s bank account.

During the police investigation the investigators had got a mobile number that belonged to one of the accused. Hiran Magri police with the help of Cyber cell located the mobile phone to UP, Delhi or Noida. The team immediately rushed to the respective areas and started the investigation. Ghaziabad team received the information that the accused were operating a cyber café near Vaishali Nagar, Ghaziabad.

Both the police teams conducted a raid and arrested the trio. The police discovered that they were operating a racket of fooling people on either mobile phones or through internet over fake offers and transferring huge amount of cash from their bank accounts, Goyal added.
