An under trail prisoner lodged in Udaipur Central Jail fled away from the prison yesterday. However, police arrested him today from Amet Bus Stand.

The prisoner Kesar Singh Rawat (40), resident of Village Likki, Amet was first lodged in Rajsamand Jail and recently shifted to Udaipur for medical checkup. Rawat is suffering from throat cancer and is under trial for the charges of murder.

Prison authority came to know about the escape during the routine counting of prisoners.

Surajpol Police had started searching for the accused and also investigating on how he escaped from the jail.
