[Update] Hotel Staff owner files complaint against Cop

The investigation of an incidence of clash between a police constable and a hotel staff of Udaipur that occurred at Kaya village on NH.8 in the wee hours on Sunday took a new turn when the hotel owner Chagan Kalal on Wednesday lodged a complaint against the cop for allegedly targeting his employees over a small issue and also denied having any of his staff member’s involvement in the whole scene.

 

The investigation of an incidence of clash between a police constable and a hotel staff of Udaipur that occurred at Kaya village on NH.8 in the wee hours on Sunday took a new turn when the hotel owner Chagan Kalal on Wednesday lodged a complaint against the cop for allegedly targeting his employees over a small issue and also denied having any of his staff member’s involvement in the whole scene.

Chagan in his report to the police clearly mentioned that none of the men is having his involvement in the incidence where a cop was beaten here at Kaya Village. He also highlighted that though his watchman was manhandled by the cop but in turn the cop blamed the hotel staff for thrashing him and his friend at the time of incidence which in actuality were beaten by the truck drivers present at the hotel.

On the other hand the cop, identified as Farooq gave his report at the police station blaming the staff of the hotel for allegedly beating him and his friends. The cop also claimed that the attackers damaged his car with swords and sticks. Later on Monday afternoon, the case was registered by Farooq and investigation was started under the leadership of DySP Ranu Sharma, said SP Goyal.

During the initial investigation which was led by DySP Ranu few shocking facts came in light that on the night the incidence Farooq and his friend had an argument with a truck driver after which they chased him in their car and beat him outside a Hotel situated at the highway near the Kaya village, the cop and his friend were beaten by the crowd believing them to be the robbers as none of them was in the uniform, S.P Goyal informed.

Goyal further added that the sources informed that the cop and his friend were allegedly drunk at the time the scene occurred however, verification is yet to be made before taking any action. If the investigation report points out towards the cop then a departmental inquiry will be made.
