[UPDATED] Kidnapped Courier Employees Robbed off before setting Free
Two of the courier company employees, who were allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday from Paras Chouraha and later released in Gujarat, have safely arrived in Udaipur and are presently under the police supervision.
UPDATE [10 Jan, 2013]: According to Police, the kidnappers were carrying a revolver, and during their journey they crossed two toll booths. The CCTV footage from the toll booths has been taken and is being viewed for some other clues. The value of the parcel is estimated to be Rs. 7.50 lacs.
Two of the courier company employees, who were allegedly kidnapped on Wednesday from Paras Chouraha and later released in Gujarat, have safely arrived in Udaipur and are presently under the police supervision.
The victims Dinesh, 25, and Mansa Ram Prajapat, 48, were robbed and reportedly subjected to physical assault by the unidentified kidnappers. Both were carrying precious jewelries which were meant to be delivered in Gujarat.
According to Phoolaram Prajapat, Manager of the courier company RC Courier, “Mansa Ram was going to our head office situated at the Ahmadabad to deliver the parcel of ornaments and Dinesh Prajapat went with him to drop him at bus stand.”
Hailing from Sirohi, Dinesh is working here from last one year, while Mansa Ram is working from last twenty years, both used to deliver courier and used to stay at the office only.
According to information provided by Phoolaram, after robbing them, the kidnappers dropped Dinesh at Vijay Nagar and Mansaram at Idar, both contacted Mukesh Bhai, the owner of courier company at his headquarter in Ahmadabad; Mukesh Bhai came to rescue both and took them back to Udaipur by midnight.
Dinesh and Mansaram got minor injuries and their mobiles phones, cash and even their slippers were robbed.
“The RC courier company deals in taking and delivering the parcels of Gold and Silver Ornaments and I was working with the company from the last 3 years in Udaipur as a Manager”, mentioned Phoolaram Prajapat.
According to Phoolaram, “Dinesh and Mansaram told us that there were 6 people in the white colored bolero and during the kidnapping when they were moving towards Gujarat they crossed two Toll Nakas on the way and the kidnappers made them sit on floor of the car”.
At present Police is keeping tight lipped on the matter and might release official statement soon.
