A woman from Badi Sadri was allegedly raped by an auto rickshaw driver in a forest area, near Lakadwas. Villagers of the area informed police about the incident after the victim woman somehow reached the village.

According to police, the woman is resident of Badi Sadri and came to Udaipur yesterday to visit a devra at Lakadwas. She took auto rickshaw from Udiapol. During her travel, the rickshaw driver tried to befriend her and introduced himself as Heera Meghwal.

When she hired the rickshaw, there were few passengers in it but before she reached Lakadwas all other passengers were gone. By the time, the accused driver also took some of his friends who had consumed liquor in the rickshaw. Woman told police that, she was taken to an isolated place where the accused threatened her and raped her.

According to police, investigation is started on the basis of statement given by the victim. Although, it is still not confirmed, if the associates of the accused driver were also involved in the abuse.
