A 65 year old woman was targeted by an unidentified accused for her gold chain on Sunday morning at 7 AM while she was returning to her house from Shreenath Temple situated at Dao ji ki Badi, Ghanta Ghar area.

The accused threatened the victim Shakuntala Sharma of Naio ki Talai with a knife and snatched the earrings, gold chain from her. He was chased by the people who were present on the spot and in order to escape, a part of the gold chain fell from his hand while he managed to flee with the gold earrings.

A police hunt as launched after an FIR lodged against the accused, said police. The incident occurred early morning when the victim was returning to her house after offering prayers at the temple. Few meters ahead from the temple, she was stopped by the accused with a knife and snatched her ornaments, informed police.
