Udaipur, July 29, 2025 - The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) typically offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through integrated programmes, but IIM Udaipur is set to redefine business education. It is introducing a BBA programme that will provide underprivileged/disadvantaged students the opportunity to access IIM-level education. This four-year BBA programme is scheduled to launch in July 2026.

There are IIMs which offer undergraduate programmes or integrated programmes combining undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Management but IIM Udaipur is providing the IIM brand to India’s underserved learners.

This programme is specially designed for students who have traditionally been excluded from higher education. Students from Hindi-medium backgrounds, youth from rural and small-town areas, those with non-commerce backgrounds and homemakers will also get the chance to study Business Management. The majority of the coursework will be conducted online.

In the first three years, the medium of instruction will be Hindi, in keeping with the aim of the National Education Policy to provide education in both Indian and foreign languages. But all study materials, assessments and communication will be bilingual. From the beginning, students will also have the option to learn in English medium if they choose.

The fourth year will be optional and taught entirely in English. It will be especially useful for students aiming for higher education or opportunities at the international level.

IIM Udaipur is setting up a studio to deliver high-quality teaching materials, recorded lectures, interactive platforms, and live tutorials. The programme’s fee structure is also affordable and meritorious and economically disadvantaged students will be offered scholarships.
