The Minister of State for Technical Education Government of Rajasthan Vasudev Devnani addresses a review meeting of education department here at Udaipur on Sunday.

Devnani reviewed the working conditions of the schools of various districts of Udaipur division and took reports from the number of officials of the department including the district Education officers and others. All the MLAs and MPs also attended the meeting.

While addressing the media, Devnani said that in Sunday review meeting the evaluation of the remarkable work of the department was done. He said that the work is remarkable as it is the first time when the staff pattern has been implemented in Rajasthan which is awaited since 60 years.

He also said that on the basis of this pattern appropriate number of teachers will be appointed depending upon their availability as there had been disequilibrium between the availability of teachers and positions.

Devnani highlighted that there will be a Sr. Secondary school in each Panchayat Samiti level where a child can get his education from class 1st to 12th in the same school. A fall in nominations at government schools was noticed in 2010-11 with a reduction of 72 Lac nomination and last year, it was 60 Lac. But this year a hike of 9 Lac has been seen in the nominations of government school out of which 6 Lac are in secondary sector and remaining 3 Lac are in Primary sector which is almost a 69 % increase.

To maintain the trust of the people in government schools the department has to take care of the number of nominations, working conditions of the teachers and availability of basic amenities in the schools like drinking water, clean toilets and furniture, Devnani added.

During the review meeting it was found that the number of teachers at the schools of 5 tehsils namely Dharyawad, Kotra, Kushalgarh, Lasadia and Girva of Udaipur is underdeveloped and to make it better is possible only when at least 60% of the teachers will be available at the schools, as per Devnani.

Besides that a discussion on 9 important subjects including identification of those schools whose building needs to be repaired, how many of them needs a boundary wall, how many play ground are there etc. was held. During the review meeting it came out that comparatively, condition of schools at Udaipur, Rajsamand and Banswara is good whereas the condition of Pratapgarh, Kotra and Dungarpur needs to be improved, Minister said.

Devnani also highlighted that from this year 15th October will be celebrated as Vidhya Divas as a tribute to Ex President of the country Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
