Overseas Rajasthanis Urged to Support Govt Schools Development
Kuwait Chapter president says that overseas Rajasthanis can make significant contributions through Gyan Sankalp Portal
Udaipur, August 28, 2026 - “Rajasthan Foundation Knowledge Series – Episode 05” was organised by the Rajasthan Foundation and the Department of NRI Affairs (DoRA), in collaboration with the Education Department of the Government of Rajasthan. The special Knowledge Series provided information about the initiatives being undertaken through the Gyan Sankalp Portal to improve basic infrastructure and the academic environment in government schools across Rajasthan, as well as opportunities for support from society and the Rajasthani diaspora.
Rajasthan Foundation, Kuwait Chapter president Daya Lal Kumhar participated virtually in the event and described it as an opportunity to understand how the Gyan Sankalp Portal is emerging as an effective platform to connect society, donors and overseas Rajasthanis with the development of government schools in the State.
The Gyan Sankalp Portal offers various options, including adopting a school, creating an individual project, contributing to departmental projects and supporting a government school of one’s choice.
Kumhar said that overseas Rajasthanis can make significant contributions to the development of their homeland. Occasions, such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries or special achievements, could be used to contribute towards essential infrastructure at a government school in their village or city.
Appealing to the Rajasthani diaspora, he said, “We, as overseas Rajasthanis, should also fulfil our responsibility towards the development of Rajasthan. Connecting our celebrations with the happiness and bright future of children in our villages will be a matter of pride and satisfaction for all of us.”
The Rajasthan Foundation, Kuwait Chapter, will encourage overseas Rajasthanis who undertake socially beneficial initiatives for the development of government schools in their villages or cities. Efforts will also be made to recognise their contributions at chapter events and seek district-level recognition for their work.
