Rain Alert: Schools Outside Nagar Nigam Limits to Stay Shut on Sept 8

Udaipur, Sept 7, 2025 - In view of the heavy rainfall forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department and to ensure the safety of students, Udaipur District Collector and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, Namit Mehta, has issued an order declaring a holiday for schools and Anganwadi centres on Monday, September 8.

As per the order, all government and private schools in the district — excluding those within the Nagar Nigam limits — will remain closed for students on September 8. However, all staff members of both government and non-government schools will report to work as per regular rules.

In a separate order, all Anganwadi centers in both urban and rural areas will also remain closed on September 8.

According to the authorities, any violation of this order will result in action being taken under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
