A student of a reputed school in the city denied further admission due to his facial hair. The allegation was put by student’s parents.

As per the parents, the school principal allegedly asked their son shave off his beard. Parents of the students have approached the District Collector and have accused the principal of the school for discrimination.

However the principal denied all the charges, adding that the student was not granted admission because he came late for the process.

“There is no seat available in the science stream; that’s why we denied admission. All accusations of religious discrimination are wrong” said the principal.

The matter has also been reported to the District Education Officer.
